Job Description

This position is contingent upon contract award. Under the guidance of senior medical leadership and in collaboration with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the SBHA develops, implements, and evaluates behavioral health assessments and interventions for individuals in custody, ensuring compliance with policies and DHS directives.

The SBHA oversees behavioral health services, collaborates with management for program planning, and ensures quality healthcare delivery at CBP sites including ports of entry and border stations. The role involves working alongside CBP personnel in secured facilities, providing medical and behavioral health support to diverse populations including children and pregnant women.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral health assessments and interventions.
• Supervise Behavioral Health Advisors.
• Provide operational advice, support, and coordination to CBP leadership.
• Conduct behavioral health climate assessments and coordinate program integration.
• Offer behavioral health support, education, and training to CBP staff.
• Support medical quality management processes related to behavioral health.
• Document all activities accurately in medical records or reports.
• Provide outreach and educational activities on behavioral health issues.
• Manage urgent and emergent situations with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Produce monthly and annual reports on activities performed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Valid, active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the U.S.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an LCSW and 5 years supervisory experience.
• Experience working with law enforcement, military, or related fields preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Additional Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Proficiency in English; Spanish preferred.

Physical and Other Qualifications

• Ability to perform duties in various environments, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work in stressful, austere settings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.

Compensation and Benefits
