An established industry player is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant to join their dynamic care team. The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) will work as a member of the University Medical Associate (UMA) care team, providing behavioral health services to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. The BHC provides triage assessment, diagnostic and developmental evaluations, brief treatment (individual, couple or group therapy), referral assistance, crisis intervention and mental health screenings. The position may also provide supervision and some outreach programming.
The BHC serves as a consultant and service provider to patients receiving care in an ambulatory clinic. In addition, the position provides referral support to patients wishing to connect with psychological and psychiatric serviced in the community.
Prior experience is preferred.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program required
Experience: 3 years' experience post master's required.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing/traveling or use of assistive and climbing (stairs, steps). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail, hear, speak, see, distinguish colors, read, ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
