Job summary

Federal Aviation Administration within the Air Traffic Organization, Flight Service directorate, seeks candidates with at least one year of specialized experience at FV-J FG/GS-13 to support the Alaska service area and flight service contractor performance.

Ideal applicants will have experience guiding teams in operations and safety monitoring, data analysis, and quality assurance, with emphasis on action-oriented corrective measures.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J FG/GS-13.
• Experience with follow-up on identified deficiencies and developing and recommending corrective action plans.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work of a team in monitoring and evaluating operations and safety, trends and data analysis, and quality assurance.
• Coordinate and oversee ongoing evaluation of flight service operations to ensure safety and performance.

Job description

This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) within the System Operations Service Unit, Flight Service directorate. The Flight Service (FS) Safety and Operations Group is responsible for ensuring the performance and safety of the Alaska service area and delivery of services provided by the flight service contractor through the Flight Service Director.

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at leastone year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J FG/GS-13 level. This experience istypically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped theapplicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the dutiesof the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the
next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Specialized experience at the next lower level, FV-J:

• -Experience providing follow-up on identified deficiencies and developing and recommending corrective action plans.
• -Experience directing the work of a team in monitoring and evaluating operations and safety, trends and data analysis, and quality assurance.
