Job summary

US Federal Aviation Administration seeks a frontline supervisor to provide administrative and technical direction to assigned staff in support of aviation operations.

The role requires specialized experience at FV-J level, with demonstrated leadership, budgeting and program development under 14 CFR Part 121, 135 or 145, plus an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate and documented experience with CASS/reliability programs for applicable operations.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at FV-I (FG/GS-13) or higher.

Job description

This position serves as frontline supervisor with authority for administration and technical direction of assigned staff.

To qualify for this position at the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience includes experience leading, researching and adhering to the requirements of 14 CFR Part 121, 135 or 145; experience with an organization's budget and reallocates resources among programs or requests additional resources to meet overall requirements; experience with the development, acceptance and implementation of aircraft maintenance/inspection programs including technical manuals, publications, printing and distribution, and/or acceptance data.

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a selective placement factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration.

Selective Placement Factor (SPF): Applicants must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate AND document experience in one of the following: Managing Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) and reliability programs for the following operations: 14 CFR Part 121 with 50 or more passenger aircraft OR Part 135 with 25 or more passenger aircraft.
