Responsibilities

  1. Schedule employees and equipment to facilitate effective and efficient delivery of service.
  2. Communicate effectively with all LBT operators, supervisors, transit police, and support vehicles via radio.
  3. Resolve service delivery problems and handle disciplinary actions.
  4. Supervise up to 25 bus operators, evaluate performance, and provide coaching and discipline.
  5. Assess service delivery, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  6. Implement bus changes, detours, and communicate alterations.
  7. Make daily decisions on service deviations or additional service needs.
  8. Lead accident scenes, investigate incidents, and report findings.
  9. Address customer issues and disruptions beyond operator scope.
  10. Administer labor agreements and maintain knowledge of labor relations.
  11. Develop work plans and schedule extra-board operators.
  12. Evaluate system operations and recommend service improvements.
  13. Plan major operations events, train, and schedule operators.
  14. Manage software applications used in operations, including HASTUS, Ellipse, and ACS.
  15. Participate in system selection and testing for computer-generated projects.
  16. Advise on programs and special projects within LBT.
  17. Report unsafe conditions, investigate accidents, and ensure safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of transit operations software and communication systems.
  • Valid California Commercial Driver's License with a safe driving record.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in transportation, planning, business administration, or related field is preferred; high school diploma with relevant experience is acceptable. Prior supervisory experience in transit is advantageous.

Salary Range: $79,258.87 - $102,269.51, depending on qualifications.
