Valencia College is seeking a dedicated Supervisor, Testing & Assessment on the Lake Nona Campus. The role oversees the campus Assessment Office, coordinates testing programs, and leads a team of full-time and part-time staff to deliver exemplary student support and testing services.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience supervising staff, and the ability to respond professionally in challenging situations while ensuring compliance and security of test

Qualifications

  • Required Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with testing centers or CLEP is a plus and knowledge of exam administration.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling and workflow of the campus Assessment Office.
  • Oversee administration of assessment programs and instruments.
  • Supervise and coach Assessment Office staff.
  • Mediate difficult situations and resolve problems.
  • Monitor changes to assessment programs and update policies as needed.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify needs and improve systems.
  • Provide students with clear information on assessments and eligibility.
  • Ensure security and integrity of test administrations.
  • Prepare campus assessment reports and utilize technology to improve efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Valencia College is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Supervisor, Testing & Assessment to join our Testing and Assessment CW at The Lake Nona Campus.

We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills who can provide excellent customer service and respond to difficult people and situations with tact and diplomacy. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others in a variety of situations, as well as the ability to supervise and provide leadership to both full-time and part-time staff.
In this role you will:

  • Be knowledgeable about the various examinations offered and be able to administer them as needed.
  • Oversee lab staff, including coordinating schedules, approving timesheets, and addressing performance or disciplinary matters as needed.
  • Support some operational responsibilities within the area in the Lake Nona campus, including facility-related matters and handling escalated situations involving students or parents.

Essential Job Functions

Description of Job Function

1. Coordinates all scheduling, activities and workflow of the campus Assessment Office to ensure optimum coverage for student service.
2. Oversees and coordinates the administration of assessment programs and administers assessment instruments.
3. Supervises, coaches, and evaluates Assessment Office staff.
4. Mediates in difficult situations and makes decisions about problem resolutions.
5. Monitors changes to assessment programs and related regulations, and participates in making appropriate revisions to policies, procedures, and systems.
6. Collaborates with other departments to assess needs and make system improvements.
7. Provides students with clear information about assessments, testing eligibility requirements and policies.
8. Maintains security of assessments and ensures integrity of test administrations.
9. Coordinates campus assessment reports.
10. Ensures that technological resources are used to generate meaningful information and increase efficiency.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

General Working Conditions This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds.
