Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. seeks a Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground based in Columbia, SC. You will direct and supervise crews and subcontractors for underground telecom projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time performance in a fast-paced operating environment.

The role requires 3+ years in telecom/utility construction, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read prints and maps. Office-based office support and field supervision combine in this salaried position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Utility Construction/Maintenance
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
• Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps
• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel and basic software

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and supervise employees and subcontractors in cable restoration, ensuring contract/spec compliance
• Ensure safety, quality, and production goals per company rules
• Maintain daily production sheets and reporting
• Inspect trucks/equipment for defects
• Participate in daily/weekly calls with operations and customers
• Resolve complaints and perform other duties as needed
• Maintain positive working relationships internally and externally

What you’ll do

• Direct, coordinate and supervise, dispatch, train, inspect and monito employees and subcontractors in the correct placement/repair or cable and restorations ensuring results are according to contract and process speicifications
• Ensure employees meet all safety, quality, and production goals according to rules, regulations, and standards set by company
• Maintain daily production sheets and other reporting
• Insect trucks/equipment for defects
• Participate in daily/weekly calls with operations and customers
• Resolve compaints
• Performs other duties as necessary
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally

What you’ll need

• At least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company
• 3+ years of experience within the Telecommunications or Utility Construction/Maintenance industry
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
• Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc), Google applications, and/or other construction
• related software applications
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
• Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
• Able to work as needed (overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call)
