Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a skilled mill operations candidate in Sayreville, NJ. The role focuses on overseeing Mill Services yard operations, maintaining scrap inventory, and ensuring quality scrap intake, with required SAP/QMOS data handling.

You’ll work in an environment spanning office and hands-on operations, including potential weekends/holidays, and contribute to cost reduction initiatives while leveraging SAP and related tooling to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mill experience.
• Data entry in SAP/QMOS.
• Strong computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Work which may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work with a budget for lowering cost (SAP).
• Ability to work in extreme heat.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Mill Services yard operations.
• Provide a daily/weekly scrap inventory report to Melt Shop Management.
• Rail car management and rail track repairs.
• Maintain appropriate scrap inventory by commodities.
• Ensure incoming scrap meets or exceeds quality expectations.

What You'll Do

• Industry/Scrap knowledge preferred
• Knowledge in Excel, Scrap Dragon, and SAP preferred
• Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
