Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a logistics professional to document material weight and descriptions, assign commodities and locations, and work closely with accounting and raw materials to resolve discrepancies. The role requires teamwork and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

You will engage in safety programs and follow PPE rules while supporting daily operations, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP experience a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in operations or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Log information into the computer system documenting weight and descriptions of materials.
• Assign correct commodities and locations for materials.
• Coordinate with accounting and raw materials to resolve scrap/ticket discrepancies.

What You'll Do

• Log information into the computer system to document weight and description of materials in and out bound
• Accurately assign correct commodities and location for materials
• Work closely with accounting and raw materials to resolve scrap and ticket discrepancies
• Divert scrap loads to the rail scale and communicate information during traffic overflow situations
• Ensure all backhauls are unloaded and accounted for with clear communication to the relieving shift
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area

What You'll Need

• Minimum 1 year of of experience in either an operations and/or manufacturing environment required
• Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint required. SAP experience a plus.
• Knowledge of different grades of scrap a plus
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Some overtime will be required
• Ability to perform heavy manual work
• Push and pull up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
