Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 4+ years of experience in health and safety OR a bachelor’s degree in a safety related field of study.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA standards – regulatory requirements and hazard identification.
• Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and maintain facility safety programs and policies.
• Continuous safety evaluation for facility, including machine guarding, ergonomics, slip-trip-fall hazards, and electrical safety.
• Collaborate with facility management on solutions for operational and safety concerns.
• Educate team members on the principles of George’s safety culture.
• Conduct incident analyses including root cause analysis and fish bone diagrams.
• Administer Industrial hygiene testing.
• Support and coordinate safety training for facility teams.
• Complete necessary paperwork to satisfy regulatory requirements or program requirements.
• Partner with management, supervisors, and team members to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Basic knowledge of OSHA standards – both regulatory requirements and hazard identification.
• Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)

Preferred

• Professional Certification 1 year of safety experience in food manufacturing.
• Bilingual preferred.
