An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation standards. This role involves conducting training, supervising sanitation efforts, and auditing processes to maintain high-quality standards. General Purpose:
Responsible for plant adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). |
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct GMP training for new employees as well as the monthly plant employee training. |
2. Supervise the Custodial department. 3. Primary backup for the Lab Supervisor as needed. 4. Measure the performance of the sanitation procedures and CIP systems. Monitor the recording charts and perform chemical strength tests 5. Review lab records as necessary, yeast/mold, coliform, environmental and charm ATP swabs determining the effectiveness of SSOP's 6. Audit the Master Sanitation cleaning schedules and report results to management 7. Audit HACCP records for cheese and whey plants weekly and report results 8. Assist the Manager of Quality Assurance and Compliance in developing quality programs in the plant, and works with external auditors both regulatory and internal. 9. Function as liason between plant and chemical supply companies 10. Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of position 11. Follow and make sure department follows all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements 12. Follow and make sure department follows all safety and environmental regulations 13. Perform related duties as needed |
Required Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Chemistry or related field. * Previous experience in Lab/Quality/Sanitation departments. * Dairy experience preferred |
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Strong computer skills. * Ability to calibrate a variety of testing equipment |
