Job summary

Ferrara is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead technicians and ensures our products meet safety and quality standards. You will champion GMPs, drive continuous improvement, and partner across teams to uphold high food-safety practices.

You’ll manage CAPA/NCR processes, coordinate training, and participate in audits to sustain compliance and a strong quality culture.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • HACCP certification and GFSI audits experience (e.g., FSSC 22000 or SQF) a plus.
  • PCQI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for quality and food safety practices during operations.
  • Maintain holds and develop CAPA by root cause analysis and monitor effectiveness.
  • Manage quality and sanitation team staffing, training, and mentorship.
  • Coordinate with production to monitor processes for effectiveness and improvement.
  • Initiate and trend NCRs/CAPAs and participate in internal audits.

The Quality Supervisor, reporting to the Quality Manager, is a hands‑on leader who keeps our products safe, our standards high, and our teams performing at their best. You’ll supervise and coach technicians and leads, drive daily performance, and partner across teams to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. You’ll also help strengthen Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Accountable for quality and food safety practices during operations.
  • Maintains holds and develops corrective actions (CAPA) by utilizing root cause analysis as necessary and monitors CAPA for effectiveness.
  • Manages quality and sanitation team by scheduling/approving timecards, assigning tasks and providing ongoing training/mentoring.
  • Facilitates with production the monitoring of processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Initiate, track and trend NCRs/CAPAs.
  • Be a part of the internal audit team and participate actively in the scheduled food safety and facility GMP audits.
  • Co-ordinate the pre-op, post-op and glass/brittle plastic inspections.
  • Acts as a communication liaison between management and quality staff to support corporate and plant-driven initiatives.
  • As part of the food safety team, maintains the food safety plan and updates SOPs as required.
  • Ensures training of associates at all levels on quality programs.
  • Interact with other supervisors/managers within Ferrara to share best practices.
  • Perform and maintain the environmental monitoring program and product testing program.
  • Trend the KPI data for the Quality Manager and assist in preparing reports for senior leadership management.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is$81,225 to $113,715 annually.
