Job summary

Ferrara in Forest Park, IL is seeking a hands-on Quality Supervisor to ensure product safety and high standards. You will supervise technicians, drive daily performance, and partner cross-functionally to uphold GMPs and continuous improvement. The role requires in-person presence to support production schedules.

You will manage CAPA, NCR tracking, audits, and training while coordinating with production and other supervisors. A related B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in food science or related field preferred.
• HACCP certification and GFSI audits experience a plus.
• PCQI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive quality and food safety during operations.

• Lead CAPA activities and root-cause analysis for corrective actions.

The Quality Supervisor, reporting to the Quality Manager, is a hands‑on leader who keeps our products safe, our standards high, and our teams performing at their best. You’ll supervise and coach technicians and leads, drive daily performance, and partner across teams to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. You’ll also help strengthen Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

Ways you will make a difference

• Accountable for quality and food safety practices during operations.
• Maintains holds and develops corrective actions (CAPA) by utilizing root cause analysis as necessary and monitors CAPA for effectiveness.
• Manages quality and sanitation team by scheduling/approving timecards, assigning tasks and providing ongoing training/mentoring.
• Facilitates with production the monitoring of processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Initiate, track and trend NCRs/CAPAs.
• Be a part of the internal audit team and participate actively in the scheduled food safety and facility GMP audits.
• Co‑ordinate the pre‑op, post‑op and glass/brittle plastic inspections.
• Acts as a communication liaison between management and quality staff to support corporate and plant‑driven initiatives.
• As part of the food safety team, maintains the food safety plan and updates SOPs as required.
• Ensures training of associates at all levels on quality programs.
• Interact with other supervisors/managers within Ferrara to share best practices.
• Perform and maintain the environmental monitoring program and product testing program.
• Trend the KPI data for the Quality Manager and assist in preparing reports for senior leadership management.

• B.S. Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or other related field preferred
• HACCP certification and GFSI audits experience such as FSSC 22000 or SQF a plus

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $81,225 to $113,715 annually.
