Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee the Supply Chain purchasing function, ensuring efficient processes, cost containment, and compliant contracts.
You will guide buyers, negotiate terms with vendors, and monitor performance. A Bachelor's in Business and certification or eligible within two years are required.
Five to seven years in supply chain/purchasing preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MMIS experience desired.
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, and policies and procedures the Purchasing Supervisor oversees the Supply Chain purchasing function ensuring supplies, equipment and services are procured utilizing efficient processes, effective procedures and successful cost containment strategies. Evaluates contract utilization to determine compliancy, evaluate savings and determine if changes are required. Negotiates and specifies contract terms, pricing and performance specifications with vendors. Provides guidance to and monitors the performance of the buyers to ensure they possess all the current skills and tools to effectively implement established purchasing strategies. Performs Buyer daily activities when needed.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is required.
Licensure/Certification: Valid Ohio Driver’s License. AHRMM (Association for Healthcare Resource Materials Management), or ISM (Institute for Supply Management) certification required or to be obtained within two years of hire.
Experience: Five to seven years’ experience in Supply Chain/Purchasing is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with the Material Management Information System is preferred.
