Job summary

Tyson Foods in Camilla, GA, seeks a production supervisor for the 3rd shift to maintain high production, quality and yields while upholding a safe working environment. You will control the production process, keep accurate records, and handle line maintenance with staffing responsibilities.

You will coordinate with other supervisors to resolve issues, lead team members through exercises and rotations for ergonomics, and ensure USDA inspections and company policies are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; higher education or vocational training preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous supervision or team leadership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Check daily production orders to ensure customer orders are fulfilled.
• Ensure every position is staffed before start-up of the production line.
• Oversee processing operations and resolve operational issues.
• Lead team members in morning exercises and job rotation for ergonomics.
• Promote USDA safety standards and document quality checks.
• Maintain accurate records of rework, returns, and inventory rotation.
• Assist with inventory control and proper product coding.

This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.Production & OperationsSpecific responsibilities include:Checking daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer ordersEnsuring every position is filled before start-up of the production lineEnsuring all machinery is performing to the highest standard possibleOverseeing various processing operationsWorking with other supervisors to solve operational problemsTeam LeadershipResponsibilities include:Overseeing Team Member morning exercises and job rotation in order to facilitate ergonomicsKnowing and communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team MembersProviding encouragement to Team Members in order to build the best team possiblePerforming critical human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problemsQuality, Safety & ComplianceResponsibilities include:Ensuring all workstations have passed USDA InspectionPromoting safety on a daily basis as well as through monthly safety meetingsProviding continuous education on the importance of qualityKeeping records of reworked or returned productInventory & ShippingResponsibilities include:Ensuring accurate shipmentsEnsuring proper rotation of inventoryEnsuring proper coding of productsAdditional DutiesPerforming other responsibilities as the need arisesREQUIREMENTS :Education : High school diploma; education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred.Computer Skills : Basic computer skills helpful.Communication Skills : Strong communication skills.Supervisory : This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.Travel : 1-5 trips per year.All professional team members are expected to demonstrate responsible use of approved AI tools, including safeguarding sensitive information, adhering to company policies, and validating AI-generated outputs.
