Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor for the B shift to maintain high production, quality, and yields in a safe work environment. You will oversee staffing, equipment performance, and USDA inspection compliance while promoting continuous improvement and record accuracy.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in manufacturing with supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and a HS diploma (additional coursework preferred).

Qualifications

  • 2 years in a manufacturing environment and prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • High school diploma required; additional education/training preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor and train team members.

Responsibilities

  • Check daily production orders to ensure customer fulfillment.
  • Ensure all positions are staffed before production start-up.
  • Monitor safety and ergonomics; lead safety meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and quality control; ensure USDA requirements.
  • Communicate company policies on benefits and compensation to Team Members.

Job Details:SUMMARY:This position is responsible for maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.RESPONSIBILITIES:Checking daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer ordersEnsuring every position is filled before start-up of production lineOverseeing Team Member morning exercises and job rotation to facilitate ergonomicsEnsuring all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.Ensuring all workstations have passed USDA InspectionPromoting safety daily as well as through monthly safety meetingsEnsuring accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.Additionally, knowing and communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team MembersProviding encouragement to Team Members to build the best team possibleCritical ability to perform the human relations functions such as training Retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.Overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problemsKeeping records of reworked or returned productProviding continuous education on the importance of qualityPerforming other responsibilities as the need arisesREQUIREMENTS:Experience: 2 years in a manufacturing environment and prior supervisory experience preferred.Education: High school diploma; education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred.Computer Skills: Basic computer skills helpful.Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group ofpersonnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks oractivities.Travel: 1-5 trips per year.Must submit resume for consideration.This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility and displaced team members.
