Job summary

MicroPort Orthopedics is seeking a Supervisor, Production for a 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:30am). You will supervise lean value streams and traditional manufacturing lines, mentor direct reports, and coordinate with engineering, quality, and scheduling to enable smooth operations.

  • Enforce company policies with a robust training program.
  • Identify and mitigate production, quality, or delivery risks promptly.

This is a 3rd shift position: 11:00pm-7:30am (Sunday evening-Friday morning)

Overall Summary

As Supervisor, Production, you will supervise all aspects of both lean value stream and traditional manufacturing product lines across all shifts. You will also mentor direct reports to further develop the skills required for their job functions and interface with engineering, production, quality, scheduling, and corporate work teams to facilitate manufacturing operation.

Your Duties Will Include
  • Supervise multiple product lines and the manufacturing activities throughout the value streams.
  • Competently plan, organize, and direct manufacturing operations to a defined budget, ensuring alignment with daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Maintain and improve manpower utilization to maximize employee efficiencies.
  • Set goals and objectives, measure progress to drive accountability for achieving daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets across safety, quality, delivery, and cost metricsand strive for a continuous improvement culture.
  • Lead a structured operating cadence (e.g., shift start-up meetings, daily tier meetings, and weekly performance reviews) to communicate priorities, monitor KPIs, and address performance gaps.
  • Ensure consistent follow-through on corrective actions, process improvements, and commitments to meet operational goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and train employees, conduct personnel reviews, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and results-driven performance
  • Enforce the company personnel policies through a consistent application of principles, while maintaining a robust training program.
  • Proactively identify, elevate, and resolve production, quality, or delivery risks, ensuring timely mitigation and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Understand and adhere to all FDA, GMP and ISO requirements.

YOUR EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Your experience

Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required, or a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in operations, distribution, logistics, warehousing, or a related environment.

  • Experience in some or all of the following disciplines highly preferred: medical device manufacturing, foundry, CNC machining, metal finishing, cleaning of metals / plastics, packaging, quality.
  • Training and/or experience in the following is preferred: GMP, GD&T, lean manufacturing, mainframe computer systems, Microsoft office applications.
