Job description

Ameristar Perimeter Security is looking for a Production Supervisor. This position will be responsible for the daily operation of the mill that you are assigned to. This includes safety, quality, cost, manpower, and efficiencies of that department to ensure continuous operation during the shift. This will be a 1st shift position.

What you will be doing:

• Prioritize safety and quality above all
• Maintain the mill equipment and personnel in a sound and operational state
• Keep a clean, safe, organized work area (5S)
• Perform TPM of equipment
• Ensure accountability of mill personnel, cross-train operators, and measure production performance
• Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department manager
• Ensure smooth material movement to prevent production delays
• Work hands-on with maintenance and other personnel to resolve issues promptly
• Focus on production efficiency, problem resolution, cost-saving opportunities, and scrap reduction initiatives

The skills and experience you need:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Experience with measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers
• Ability to record and analyze KPI data to understand equipment and personnel cost impacts
• Experience with 5S and continuous improvement activities
• Experience interacting with personnel of various backgrounds and levels
• Experience with JDE and Microsoft Office
• Ability to conduct production toolbox meetings
• Knowledge of PPE, safety fundamentals, and OSHA standards

Other:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good product knowledge and understanding of schedule operations
• Ability to adapt to schedule changes and operational conditions
• Team-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
