The supervisor will provide leadership and direction to their team to achieve performance results in safety, quality, cost control (overhead, productivity, and yield), and delivery. Supervisors will identify and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement of performance. The supervisor is responsible for the leadership and development of the associates on the team and will provide coaching, training, communication/feedback.
Essential Functions:
- Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Directs and supervises activities of department associates on shift.
- Primary stakeholder and advocate for the SBT Food Safety team.
- Collaborates with Maintenance regarding preventative maintenance to schedule activities.
- Completes reports for production numbers, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality checks and submits to Production Manager.
- Performs departmental duties or roles as needed to support departmental efficiency.
- Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure deadlines are met, while adhering to safety and quality guidelines.
- Participates in interviews with hiring leadership.
- Trains, coaches, and reviews the performance of employees. Works with HR for employee discipline issues, terminations, and recruitment.
- Participates in safety team activities. Monitors and enforces safety requirements.
- Conducts weekly safety talk training, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and departmental safety walks.
- Helps build a positive work environment.
- Develops, recommends, and implements procedures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Leads or assists in accident/incident documentation and investigation as needed.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of output, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves challenges in their area or assists workers in solving challenges.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains understanding of production processes and controls.

- Works efficiently and safely while producing quality products.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
