Job summary

Dartmouth Health Hampstead is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to supervise pharmacists and technicians, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy.

The role involves overseeing day-to-day activities, ensuring compliance with state/federal guidelines, maintaining medication inventories, and guiding staff through policy development and clinical decision-making. A NH pharmacist license and ACPE-accredited degree are required.

• 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacist.
• Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of Pharmacy with 3 years of health care system experience (1 must be pharmacy supervisory experience), or the equivalent required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and possess the ability to set priorities and make critical decisions.
• Effective problem solving and change management abilities.

Overview

Supervises staff and work load in assigned, specialized shop/section of the department to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

1. Supervises day-to-day activities of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
2. Act as pharmacist-in-charge in the absence of pharmacy managers
3. Pharmacist in Charge: The pharmacist responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the operation of the pharmacy. This includes but is not limited to: managing staff, ensuring compliance to all applicable state and federal guidelines, and maintaining the inventory of all medications.
4. Helps to hire, train and evaluate Pharmacy Department staff.
5. Schedules staff and ensures appropriate staff coverage
6. Assists in the development and administration of departmental policies and procedures
7. May prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request by interpreting and evaluating medication orders and transcribe to computerized patient medication profiles. Maintain medication profiles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy 3 years’ experience as a Pharmacist.

Required Licensure/Certifications
