Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a dedicated supervisor to lead and mentor a diverse team within a Personal Care Home setting in Wilkinsburg, PA. The role emphasizes staff development, relationship building, and coordinating daily operations to support 38 staff and 56 residents with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs.

Qualifications

  • Valid PA nursing license required for RN or LPN with appropriate experience.
  • Associate's degree or 60 college credits from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator or eligibility to obtain license.
  • DPW Medication Train the Trainer certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background clearances.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid PA State Nursing License ( RN )
  • Ans Associate's Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university
  • Valid PA State License Practical Nurse ( LPN ) with 1 year of related work experience
  • A licensed Nursing Home Administrator from the Department of State
  • Obtain Personal Care Home Administrator License within 6 months of hire.
  • Obtain and maintain DPW Medication Train the Trainer certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Ability to operate an organizational vehicle
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Act 33/34/73 clearances
SCHEDULE

4-day work week.

Sunday - 2pm to midnight

Monday & Tuesday 11am to 9pm

Wednesday 2pm to midnight

Will need to flex hours to meet with staff from all shifts monthly at a minimum.

  • Our Supervisors are essential in contributing to the Behavioral Health Residential department’s ability to do its best work. The ideal candidate has to wear many hats daily: communications expert, conflict resolutions master, and organizational guru. You’ll also be responsible for staffing/staff training, internal and external relationship building, and ongoing operations.
  • The Supervisor will be one of two supervisors working with the 38 colleagues and 56 adult residents with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness at this Personal Care Home which is located in a neighborhood setting in Wilkinsburg, PA., conveniently located on a bus line.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, especially in their own home.
  • We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.
  • While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this position offers many opportunities to engage with the residents both on site and out in the community.
  • Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the residents’ well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.
