Job summary

IHA in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medication services and training for adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Serious Mental Illness in a residential setting.

The role involves mentoring staff, supporting a 56-bed Personal Care Home in Wilkinsburg, and guiding residents’ wellbeing through on-site and community activities. Schedule: Wed-Sat, 11am-9pm; 4-day work week.

Qualifications

• PA RN license required.
• BSN plus 1 year related experience or RN plus 2 years related experience.
• Valid driver license.
• Ability to drive organizational vehicle.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances.
• Pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide medication services and training to adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness in our residential locations.
• Help train, educate, and support the residential staff that works directly with the persons served.
• Mentor and develop a team using strengths-based practices to guide daily activities.
• Work in a 56-bed Personal Care Home in Wilkinsburg, PA, located on a bus line.
• Engage residents on-site and in the community, supporting wellbeing through activities.

About The Role

• Our Registered Nurses provide providing medication services, assistance and training to adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness in our residential treatment locations. The nurses also help train, educate, and support the residential staff that works directly with the persons served.
• We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.
• This position will work in a 56 bed Personal Care Home located in a neighborhood setting in Wilkinsburg, PA., conveniently located on a bus line.
• While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this position offers many opportunities to engage with the residents both on site and out in the community.
• Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the residents’ well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.
