Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Supervisor for the Behavioral Health Residential department located in Wilkinsburg, PA. This role leads staffing, staff training, and internal/external relationships while ensuring the well-being of 56 residents across 38 colleagues.

The position emphasizes a strengths-based, compassionate approach, with on-site and community activities to support residents' social and personal well-being.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid PA nursing licensure or be eligible for RN/LPN licensure in PA.
• Relevant degrees or credits completed from an accredited college/university.
• Licensed Nursing Home Administrator or eligible within required timeline.
• DPW Medication Train the Trainer certification preferred or obtainable within 3 months.
• Driver's license and ability to operate an organizational vehicle required.
• Clearances and pre-employment screenings must be satisfied.

Responsibilities

• Staffing and staff training responsibilities within the Behavioral Health Residential department.
• Develop and mentor a team and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure health and well-being of residents.
• Engage residents in on-site and community activities to support well-being.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid PA State Nursing License ( RN )

• Ans Associate's Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university

• Valid PA State License Practical Nurse ( LPN ) with 1 year of related work experience

• A licensed Nursing Home Administrator from the Department of State

• Obtain Personal Care Home Administrator License within 6 months of hire.

• Obtain and maintain DPW Medication Train the Trainer certification within 3 months of hire.

• Valid Driver’s license

• Ability to operate an organizational vehicle

• Pre-employment drug screening

• Act 33/34/73 clearances

SCHEDULE

4-day work week.

Sunday - 2pm to midnight

Monday & Tuesday 11am to 9pm

Wednesday 2pm to midnight

Will need to flex hours to meet with staff from all shifts monthly at a minimum.

Job Description

• Our Supervisors are essential in contributing to the Behavioral Health Residential department’s ability to do its best work. The ideal candidate has to wear many hats daily: communications expert, conflict resolutions master, and organizational guru. You’ll also be responsible for staffing/staff training, internal and external relationship building, and ongoing operations.

• The Supervisor will be one of two supervisors working with the 38 colleagues and 56 adult residents with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness at this Personal Care Home which is located in a neighborhood setting in Wilkinsburg, PA., conveniently located on a bus line.

• This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, especially in their own home.

• We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.

• While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this position offers many opportunities to engage with the residents both on site and out in the community.

• Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the residents’ well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.
