Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy in Bethel Park is seeking a compassionate team member to provide assistance and training to individuals with Serious Mental Illness in our residential treatment setting.

This full-time, non-exempt role involves cooking, cleaning, medication management, transportation to appointments, and organizing activities to support residents' well-being. You will work with a small team in a 3-bed home across from South Park.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services OR High School Diploma/Equivalency and 1 year of direct care experience

Responsibilities

• Assist and train individuals with Serious Mental Illness in a residential setting.
• Cook, clean, manage medications, and accompany residents to appointments.
• Design activities to support residents’ social and personal well-being.
• Engage with family members and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations.

About The Role

• This position will provide assistance and training to individuals with Serious Mental Illness in our residential treatment Bethel Park location.
• We're looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.
• This position will work in a small 3-bed Mental Health Support Home located in a neighborhood setting in Bethel Park., conveniently located across from South Park.
• While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this position offers many opportunities to engage with the residents both on site and out in the community.
• Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the resident's well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.

About You

• In any given day, you might cook, clean, manage medications, take residents to appointments, interact with family members, and design games and crafts.
