Job summary

Beyond Blue is seeking a Supervisor, PB Coding to oversee daily professional billing coding operations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will supervise staff, manage workflows, and lead quality assurance initiatives.

You will collaborate with providers, revenue cycle leadership, and compliance teams to optimize coding practices and training. This role is remote from Kentucky, supporting nationwide operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–4 years of related/progressive experience.
  • RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A, CCA, CCS-P or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise professional coding staff, assign workloads and monitor accuracy.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop training plans.
  • Resolve escalated coding and documentation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with coding regulations and payer requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs and prepare leadership reports.
  • Collaborate with providers to improve documentation and coding.
  • Support departmental budgeting and staffing decisions.
  • Assist audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary Responsible for supervising daily professional billing coding operations to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. Provides oversight of staff performance, workflow management, and quality assurance. Develops staff through training, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Collaborates with providers, revenue cycle leadership, and compliance teams to optimize coding practices and ensure regulatory adherence.

Essential Functions
  • Supervises professional coding staff, assigning workloads and monitoring productivity and accuracy.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, provides feedback, and develops training plans.
  • Oversees resolution of escalated coding and documentation issues.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational coding regulations.
  • Monitors key performance indicators for coding operations and prepares reports for leadership.
  • Coordinates with providers to improve documentation practices and support accurate coding.
  • Participates in departmental budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Supports audits, compliance reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirement

0-4 years of related/progressive experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Certifications & Licensures

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P) or equivalent required.
