The Supervisor Patient Flow and Staffing Office is responsible for daily operational, process, and performance management of the enterprise-wide Patient Flow and Staffing Office. Specifically, the Supervisor will collaborate with colleagues and leaders from medicine, nursing, staffing, patient logistics, case management, utilization review, environmental services, emergency communications, emergency medical services, and operations across all campuses on a daily basis to optimize and coordinate patient care. This includes oversight of staffing and patient logistics staff, including bed management. Collaborates with the Transfer Center to help facilitate throughput. This position also has responsibility for hospital capacity monitoring and root-cause analysis of problems to drive real-time interventions and solutions and to facilitate safe, efficient, and quality patient care throughout the system. The Supervisor will have an integral role in the oversight and strategy development of the Patient Flow and Staffing Office, focusing both on daily operations and ongoing performance improvement and quality assurance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Management, Business administration, Healthcare or Public Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field. 3 years experience in nursing and 2 years experience in healthcare supervision, administration, or hospital operations. Demonstrated creative problem solving with ability to synthesize evidence based best practice in a variety of settings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-driven leader with high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead work groups and projects. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office product Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
