Job summary

Lonza Tampa is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to lead daily operations in the packaging department, ensuring safe, compliant production and mentoring a growing team.

You will drive packaging performance, coach staff, and coordinate schedules to maintain quality and efficiency on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership with experience supervising or directing teams.
• Solid understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and documentation abilities.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and direct packaging team members to ensure adherence to procedures and cGMP.
• Oversee day-to-day packaging facility operations and maintenance for efficiency.
• Review production schedules and coordinate with Master Scheduler for timely documentation and issue resolution.
• Conduct and close quality event investigations with strong compliance and traceability.
• Hire, mentor, and develop staff to build a skilled, engaged packaging team.
• Provide hands-on technical and cGMP training on the shop floor.
• Coordinate indirect material purchases and manage overtime to meet needs.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and direct packaging team members to ensure alignment with procedures, processes, and cGMP expectations.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of the packaging facility to uphold production efficiency.
• Review production schedules and collaborate with the Master Scheduler to support accurate documentation and timely issue resolution.
• Conduct and close quality event investigations, ensuring strong compliance and documentation practices.
• Hire, mentor, and develop employees to build a skilled, engaged packaging team.
• Deliver hands‑on technical and cGMP training directly on the shop floor.
• Coordinate indirect material purchases and manage overtime to meet operational needs.

What we are looking for

• Experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (minimum 6 years, preferably with oral solid dosage).
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience supervising or directing teams.
• Strong understanding of good manufacturing practices and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and documentation abilities.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners such as QA, Project Management, and operations teams.
