Job summary

Lonza in Tampa, FL is seeking a Department Lead for Packaging on a 12-hour night shift. You will lead packaging operations, ensure batch records meet cGMP, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain compliant, efficient processes.

You will supervise staff, troubleshoot equipment, and support continuous improvement aligned with SQDC goals. A strong background in GMP packaging and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in manufacturing packaging or GMP-regulated environment.
• Strong cGMP knowledge and documentation practices.
• Ability to lead staff and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging operations and ensure batch record execution meets cGMP.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, and Facilities.
• Oversee cleaning and sanitization of packaging rooms and equipment.
• Assign staff to production rooms and address blocking issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and set up automated packaging machinery.
• Reconcile and move materials between packaging areas and warehouse.
• Train Operators and support continuous improvement aligned with SQDC goals.

Department Lead - Packaging (12hr Nights) Tampa, FL Join Lonza's Tampa site as a Department Lead in Packaging, where you'll help drive safe, compliant, and efficient packaging operations that support our mission of improving patients' lives. What you will do

• Lead Packaging operations, ensuring batch record execution and documentation meets cGMP standards.
• Support Manufacturing, QA, Warehouse, and Facilities teams to ensure alignment with FDA and company requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate cleaning and sanitization of primary and secondary packaging rooms and equipment.
• Assign and direct staff to production rooms to ensure smooth operations and address packaging-related blocking issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and help set up automated machinery for packaging processes.
• Reconcile and move materials between packaging areas and the warehouse.
• Train Operators and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SQDC goals.

What we are looking for

• 4+ years of relevant experience within a manufacturing, packaging, or GMP-regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and documentation practices.
• Ability to lead others, troubleshoot equipment, and support cross-functional operations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively on a 12hr night shift schedule.
• Experience with automated packaging equipment is a plus.
