Job summary

Ferrara is seeking a hands-on Supervisor, Packaging in DeKalb, IL to lead hourly staff and drive daily packaging, production, and logistics activities in a manufacturing setting.

You will supervise operators, ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and HACCP/SQF guidelines, and contribute to lean initiatives while coordinating cross-functional efforts to keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Understanding of GMP principles and HACCP standards.
  • Process, packaging, and/or mechanical experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the execution of packaging and logistics plans through operators and hourly labor in production and warehouse.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility.
  • Operate production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, GMPs, and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.
  • Direct and guide operators in execution of production and/or logistics plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, shipping, etc).
  • Manage shift change and communicate daily production standards and labor reconciliation.
  • Coach employees to ensure compliance and achieve quality.
  • Resolve problems and mitigate operational issues that affect performance.
  • Support Lean training and Kaizen events as directed by leadership.
  • Support and execute relevant projects as needed.

Due to the highly interactive nature of this manufacturing position, in-person attendance and flexibility are essential for supporting production schedules, effective communication and collaboration, real-time problem solving, and participation in cross-functional initiatives. Schedules may vary and are subject to change.

The Supervisor, Packaging, reporting to the Manager, Operations plays a hands-on role in leading hourly employees and driving daily packaging, production, and logistics activities to keep product moving accurately and on schedule.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $ 81,225 - $ 113,715 annually
