Job summary

Ezee Fiber is seeking an OSP Field Operations Supervisor to lead outside plant construction and maintenance for its FTTH network. You will supervise field crews and contractors, ensure work is safe and compliant, and collaborate with Engineering, PM, and Permitting to meet build schedules and quality standards.

As a leader, you will drive productivity, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across OSP operations while mentoring teams and supporting scheduling and resource planning.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree or technical training in telecommunications, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications or fiber OSP construction with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee OSP activities including fiber placement, splicing coordination, make-ready support, restoration, and maintenance.
  • Supervise field crews and contractors performing aerial and underground fiber construction.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, PM, and Permitting to resolve field issues and schedule impacts.
  • Ensure work aligns with prints, permits, and engineering specs.
  • Enforce safety policies and OSHA requirements on job sites; monitor quality and documentation.

JOB SUMMARY

Ezee Fiber is seeking an OSP Field Operations Supervisor who will be responsible for leading and overseeing outside plant construction and maintenance activities supporting Ezee Fiber’s FTTH network. This role supervises field crews and contractors performing aerial and underground fiber construction, ensures work is completed safely and to company standards, and partners closely with Construction, Engineering, and Permitting teams to meet build schedules and quality expectations. The supervisor plays a key role in driving productivity, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across OSP operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee OSP activities, including fiber placement, splicing coordination, make-ready support, restoration, and maintenance.
  • Ensure work aligns with construction prints, permits, and engineering specifications.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Permitting teams to resolve field issues and schedule impacts.
  • Assist with troubleshooting field construction challenges and service-affecting issues.
  • Champion Ezee Fiber’s safety-first culture by enforcing OSHA requirements, traffic control standards, and company safety policies.
  • Ensure work quality meets Ezee Fiber installation, restoration, and documentation standards.
  • Identify deficiencies, implement corrective actions, and follow up to completion.
  • Maintain a clean, compliant, and professional job site environment.
  • Track and report key metrics such as production, quality scores, safety incidents, and restoration timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records for work completed, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Support scheduling, resource planning, and workforce allocation to meet build milestones.
  • Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to scope and SLAs.
  • Supervise OSP field crews and contractors performing aerial and underground fiber construction.
  • Provide daily directions, coaching, and performance feedback to field teams.
  • Conduct regular site visits, ride-outs, and job audits to ensure compliance with Ezee Fiber standards.
  • Support onboarding and training of new field personnel and contractors.
  • Mentor emerging leaders and support succession planning.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervise one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate degree or technical training in telecommunications, construction management, or a related field preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or fiber OSP construction, along with at least two (2) years of experience in a lead, foreman, or supervisory role.

  • Strong working knowledge of fiber optic construction, splicing, testing, and OSP standards, with a deep understanding of OSP network design principles, including fiber‑optic cabling, pole‑line construction, conduit systems, and field implementation
  • Proven ability to lead and manage field teams in an OSP environment
  • Strong understanding of aerial and underground fiber construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints, permits, and fiber maps
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills
  • Proficiency with mobile workforce tools, construction tracking systems, and reporting platforms
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment while managing multiple priorities.

Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL, FIELD, OR ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The field and environmental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed. Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during all applicable tasks.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Standard daily travel to assigned territories is required for this position (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius)
