Job summary

Ezee Fiber is hiring a Technician I, Field Ops-Residential to install and activate fiber services at customer premises, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. The role supports growth of technical skills in a fast-paced environment, including field activation and on-site problem solving.

Ideal candidates have 6 months to 2 years in fiber splicing/troubleshooting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; fiber optics certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience or training.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic systems and customer premise equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on call as needed.

  • Install fiber services at customer homes, including termination, splicing, and testing.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
  • Manage work orders independently, meet SLAs, and document job details.
  • Perform splicing and identify faults using fiber loss testing.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and fiber components.
  • Provide professional service and educate customers on fiber technology.
  • Follow safety protocols and company policies during all field operations.

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Install fiber services at customer homes, including termination, splicing, and testing.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
  • Manage work orders independently, meet SLAs, and document job details.
  • Perform splicing and identify faults using fiber loss testing.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus. Minimum of six (6) months to two (2) years of experience or training in fiber splicing and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic systems and customer premise equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and on call as needed.

While performing the duties of the job, the associate isrequiredon a daily basisto work outdoors invariousweather conditions, including extreme heat, cold,rain, or wind.Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed. Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during all applicable tasks.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Standard daily travel to assigned territories isrequiredfor this position (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius)
