Job Description

As the Supervisor - Operations, you will supervise one or more departments within a warehouse operation including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, as well as housekeeping of the warehouse. You will report directly to a Manager or Senior Manager Operations. You will train, coach, and counsel associates, and can have at least 2 or more direct reports. You will comply with operational, audit, safety, and all other company policies. You will focus on meeting customer requirements and contribute to the development of processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate employee work assignments to achieve inbound and outbound service requirements
2. Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety
3. Monitor workflow, work completed, error rates, and related metrics; take corrective action
4. Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced
5. Confirm quality and inspection processes are accurate; eliminate excess costs
6. Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety regulations
7. Maintain accurate time, attendance, and performance management records
8. Maintain positive employee relations and morale
9. Recommend performance management actions
10. Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes
11. Establish and monitor performance standards for warehouse functions, including pick, pack, and ship
12. Process returned merchandise
13. Establish and monitor performance standards for equipment, assembly, housekeeping, etc.
14. Develop and implement training certification programs for warehouse employees

Qualifications

1. High School Degree or Equivalent required
2. Forklift Certification preferred
3. 2+ years warehouse and distribution operations experience
4. 1 year experience leading warehouse associates
5. Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification
6. Strong knowledge of inventory control processes
7. Knowledge of electrical, construction, or mechanical products
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. Strong time management skills
10. Basic computer skills
11. Attention to detail
12. Ability to learn and use business planning systems
13. Resolve problems in a timely manner under stress
14. Comfortable working in a team environment
15. Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment
16. Ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs

Physical Expectations

1. Work is physically strenuous; lifting heavy packages up to 50 pounds
2. May require excessive bending or stooping
3. Climbing ladders is required
4. Using hand tools and heavy machinery (e.g., forklift)
