Vincentian Home in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an RN Nursing Supervisor to lead daily resident care operations with compassion and excellence. You will oversee staff, ensure safe care, and maintain compliance in a long-term care setting.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and the ability to address complex resident needs while supporting a positive work environment for staff. This is a part-time night shift with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles and long-term care regulations, including Medicare and Medical Assistance, preferred.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Join the Vincentian nursing team as an RN Nursing Supervisor, where you’ll provide leadership and oversight for daily resident care operations while helping create a collaborative, compassionate, and high-quality environment for residents and staff.

The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned resident care units, including staff leadership, resident care, compliance, risk management, and ensuring the appropriate resources are available to meet resident needs.

What You’ll Do

• Provide leadership and oversight of daily operations for assigned resident care units.
• Promote and ensure the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care based on accurate and timely assessments of resident needs.
• Conduct regular nursing unit rounds to evaluate resident care, address concerns, and assist with admissions.
• Adjust staff schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and meet resident care needs.
• Foster teamwork, collaboration, open communication, and positive working relationships among nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide guidance and support to staff in addressing complex resident care concerns and complaints from residents, families, and physicians.
• Support staff development, performance management, and job satisfaction while addressing performance concerns when necessary.
• Coordinate staffing and responsibilities during emergency or disaster situations and ensure appropriate leadership is notified.
• Ensure the availability of necessary equipment, supplies, records, and resources for effective unit operations.
• Monitor and ensure accurate documentation of incidents and unusual events and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Promote a safe resident care environment in accordance with facility policies, nursing standards, and applicable regulations.
• Support compliance, risk management, and position control for assigned units.
• Participate in the development and communication of Nursing Services standards.
• Stay current with advances in professional nursing practice, management, and long-term care regulations.
• Promote efficient use of resources while maintaining quality care and services.
• Support Vincentian's Code of Ethical Conduct and Compliance Program by promptly reporting suspected compliance, fraud, abuse, ethics, or policy violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles and long-term care regulations, including Medicare and Medical Assistance, preferred.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and basic office equipment.
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced resident care environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff, residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
