Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking a Supervisor for Reconditioning Services. You will lead vehicle inspections, manage shop workflow, ensure equipment and training, and report progress to the operations manager.

The role emphasizes safety, supervision, and efficient production in a fixed Cox location. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of related experience, strong supervisory and organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: HS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Competent supervisory and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; valid driver's license; ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Preferred: knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; strong people, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $67,200.00 - $100,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

What You'll Do
  • Supervising the inspection of vehicles.
  • Managing the workflow and activities of the shop employees to ensure that all vehicles are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring employees have the proper equipment and are properly trained.
  • Communicating and resolving reconditioning goals, results, and problems with the operations manager.
  • Assisting manager in monitoring and evaluating employee job performance and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Using management tools to track production and post charges.
  • Leading by example and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
  • Monitoring and controlling the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the recon shop.
  • Enforcing all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.

  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Preferred: Excellent people, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills.
  • A working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations is preferred.
