Job summary

UtiliQuest, LLC in Florida is seeking a Field Supervisor to lead a Damage Prevention team across Brevard and Indian River Counties. The role focuses on safety, performance, and client coordination in the Southeast Region.

You will build and supervise technicians, conduct planning, audits, and reviews, and collaborate with HR to hire and train staff. Travel up to 50% may be required; weekend shifts possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year or more of proven experience in utility locating or a similar field.
• Willingness to do overnight travel as needed (up to 50%).
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and a positive safety mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Industry knowledge: utility mapping, equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Ability to deliver effective field training programs.

Responsibilities

• Build and supervise a team of Damage Prevention Technicians.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
• Conduct daily/weekly planning meetings for quality control.
• Conduct audits to ensure quality standards.
• Provide performance reviews and development opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with clients, excavators, regulators, employees, and the public.
• Assist Center Manager with staffing and hiring decisions.
• Assist Technicians with locating utilities.
• Collaborate with HR/Talent Acquisition on staffing needs and onboarding.
• Operate company vehicles safely and maintain professional appearance.
• Validate and approve daily time reports.
• Mentor technicians and manage engagement and morale.
• Complete JSOs (Job Safety Observations) and handle ticketing.
• Occasional weekend work and other duties as needed.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Operations Team at UtiliQuest, LLC as a Field Supervisor supporting our Southeast Region. UtiliQuest, LLC, a leading provider of quality underground utility damage prevention for over three decades. The Field Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Center Manager. In this role, the ideal candidate will manage the workflow of their employees, creating team schedules and delegating tasks. He/She will assess the work performance of their employees and identify areas that need improvement. The Field Supervisor will also ensure that business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met, set goals for the technicians and make sure they comply with the company’s plans and vision.

What You’ll Do

• Build and supervise a team of Damage Prevention Technicians who are driven and understand the key performance indicators and economic engines of the business.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture for all employees.
• Conduct daily and weekly planning meetings to ensure quality control is in place.
• Conduct audits on field personnel to ensure quality standards are being met.
• Conduct performance reviews and provides regular performance feedback and development opportunities for technicians
• Create and maintain good working relationships with clients, excavators, regulators, employees, and the public
• Assist Center Manager in identifying strengths and weaknesses of Damage Prevention Technicians.
• Assist Technicians with locating difficult to find utilities.
• Collaborate with the HR and Talent Acquisition Team to identify staffing needs, interview and make final hiring decisions.
• Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a professional appearance
• Validate and approve daily personnel time reports
• Develops, mentor and evaluate technicians and has the overall responsibility for employee engagement and morale.
• Complete JSOs (Job Safety Observations) of technicians
• Ticket production and weekend work required, as needed.
• Completes other duties, as needed

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year or more of proven experience in utility locating or a similar field, with proven high quality results.
• Willingness to do overnight travel as needed. (up to 50%)

The wage range for Supervisor Locating is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00.
