Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily laboratory operations on days. This is a full-time role with a focus on staffing, quality, and regulatory compliance in a busy acute care setting.

You will lead and mentor a team of laboratory professionals, coordinate schedules, and ensure patient-centered service while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in related field preferred.
• Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assess and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
• Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

How You'll Contribute:

• Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function.

• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

• Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
• Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule and review work, but have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance and/or make pay decisions.
