Overview
The Supervisor of Instructional Support will be responsible for leading, developing, and evaluating the Instructional Coaching team to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality instructional coaching that improves teacher practice and student achievement. This position partners with instructional and campus leaders to establish coaching systems, build coaching capacity, monitor program effectiveness, and promote instructional excellence across secondary grade levels.
Essential Duties
- Instructional Coaching Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and support the Instructional Coaching team through regular coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive instructional coaching model aligned with organizational goals and instructional priorities.
- Establish and monitor coaching cycles, observation protocols, feedback processes, and coaching expectations to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by supporting coaches in refining their instructional coaching practices.
- Coordinate the daily activities and responsibilities of Instructional Coaches to ensure consistent support across campuses and instructional teams.
- Coach Development & Professional Learning
- Conduct observations of Instructional Coaches and provide timely, actionable feedback to strengthen coaching effectiveness.
- Facilitate calibration activities to ensure consistency in coaching practices and instructional support.
- Design, deliver, and coordinate professional learning opportunities that build the instructional leadership capacity of coaches.
- Support coaches in developing individualized professional growth plans aligned with organizational priorities.
- Promote collaboration and the sharing of instructional best practices across the coaching team.
- Instructional Improvement & Program Effectiveness
- Monitor the impact of instructional coaching on teacher practice, instructional quality, and student achievement.
- Analyze coaching, teacher growth, and student performance data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) by partnering with instructional leaders to strengthen collaborative planning and data-driven instruction.
- Recommend instructional strategies and coaching initiatives that support organizational goals and improve student outcomes.
- Ensure coaching services are aligned with curriculum, instructional frameworks, and district initiatives.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Curriculum, Instructional Support leadership, Instructional Leads,
- Assessment Coordinator, and campus administrators to align coaching efforts with instructional priorities.
- Support cross-functional initiatives that strengthen teaching and learning across the organization.
- Monitor coaching documentation, coaching cycles, observation quality, and professional learning effectiveness to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to coaching activities, program outcomes, and instructional support initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for instructional leaders by providing expertise in instructional coaching, adult learning, and professional development best practices.
- You will play a key role in our collective success by proactively pivoting to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of 5 years of successful educational experience, including classroom teaching and instructional leadership.
- Previous instructional coaching experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of instructional coaching models, adult learning theory, and professional learning best practices.
- Strong understanding of effective instructional strategies, curriculum implementation, assessment practices, and teacher development.
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate coaching systems that improve instructional quality and student outcomes.
- Experience analyzing coaching, teacher performance, and student achievement data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills
- Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity.
- Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field required.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate required.
- Texas Principal Certificate or Instructional Leadership certification preferred.
