Job summary

Northwell Health seeks an Imaging Services Supervisor to coordinate operations and technologist activities for a modality in its radiology department. You will supervise, hire, train, and evaluate staff, while ensuring quality patient care and adherence to accrediting guidelines.

You will prioritize scheduling, monitor workflow, maintain credentials, and lead performance-improvement initiatives. Strong leadership and knowledge of ACR/DOH standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Ultrasound Technology program.
  • Current NY State Radiology Technologist License AND ARRT registration.
  • OR Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist License in NY State AND ARRT or CNMT registration.
  • OR Current RDMS certification for ultrasound (licensure not required).
  • 3–5 years of technical experience and 0–2 years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes Imaging Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
  • Leads the activities of assigned Imaging Services team members toward department objectives.
  • Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates staff; ensures timely performance appraisals.
  • Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operations and inventory.
  • Organizes staff toward service line/department goals and monitors workflow changes.
  • Maintains staff credentials and continuing education credits.
  • Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH; ensures adherence to Quality and Infection Control standards.
  • Maintains accreditation, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control standards within modality.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and coordinates maintenance; ensures manufacturer compliance.
  • Participates in training development for modality and performance improvement practices.
  • Acts as a Technologist and responds to emergency calls as necessary.

Job Responsibility
  • 1.Promotes Imaging Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
  • 2.Leads the activities of assigned Imaging Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
  • 3.Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
  • 4.Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational performance; ensures adequate inventory of supplies.
  • 5.Organizes and guides staff towards service line/department goals. Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
  • 6.Maintains staff credentials and continuing education credits.
  • 7.Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH.Ensures staff adherence to Quality and Infection Control guidelines and equipment maintenance according to state and federal guidelines.
  • 8.Maintains related accreditation, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control standards within modality.
  • 8.Troubleshoots mechanical equipment issues and ensures compliance to manufacturer specifications. Schedule equipment maintenance and repair.
  • 9.Participates in developing and delivering training related to modality.
  • 10.Participates in evaluating and implementing Performance Improvement related practices.
  • 11.Functions as a Technologist and responds to emergency calls, as necessary.

Job Qualification
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Ultrasound Technology program, required.
  • Current Radiology Technologist License in New York State AND ARRT registration, required.
  • OR
  • Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist License in New York State AND current ARRT registration OR CNMT registration required.
  • OR
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required (no licensure requirement for ultrasound),
  • Specialized certifications, as needed.
  • 3-5 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership experience, required.
