Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in New York is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate x-ray equipment and perform radiographic examinations. The ideal candidate must have a vocational or technical school diploma, a current New York State license, and ARRT registration. Responsibilities include ensuring quality control, documenting patient history, and reporting abnormalities. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience in radiology.
  • Must hold a current New York State Radiology Technologist license.
  • ARRT registration is required.
  • 1–3 years of technical experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Translate examination results into layman's terms to ease patient anxiety.
  • Perform various x-ray exams according to established procedures.
  • Position patients for radiographs following departmental protocols.
  • Report any patient abnormalities promptly to the Radiologist.
  • Operates equipment to transfer images to film and archival media.
  • Uses film markers and ensures correct left/right labeling of images.
  • Ensures images are labeled with date and patient ID.
  • Enters patient history data and requisition information.
  • Arranges immobilization and supportive devices as needed.
  • Performs related duties as required; all duties are essential functions under ADA.

Job Description

Operates X‑ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. Performs quality control checks. Maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Translates examination into layman terms based on professional knowledge to relieve patient of pre‑testing anxiety.
  • Performs various x‑ray exams according to established standards, procedures and the division’s procedures.
  • Positions patient for taking of radiographs according to the departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Recognizes and promptly reports patient’s motor abnormalities; including fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, etc., to the Radiologist.
  • Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
  • Utilizes film markers and ensures images are properly marked as the “right” or “left” side.
  • Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
  • Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisition.
  • Arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and supportive devices for patients.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related, are not essential functions.
Job Qualifications
