Job Description And Duties

Under the general direction of the Manager II the incumbent is responsible for managing the Department's budget support operations; analysis of budget change proposals, legislation and issue memos for communication with the Department of Finance, Health and Human Services Agency and the Legislative Analyst's Office. The incumbent is responsible for directing staff in the preparation and development of the departments annual budget and budgetary documents used in the annual Governors Budget Proposal and Budget Act including but not limited to: salaries and wages supplement, budget revisions, budget change proposals, baseline budget adjustments, the November and May Revision local assistance estimates, and other supplementary schedules. The Budget Manager functions as the point of review for departmental budget development documents; provides technical and procedural consultation to all levels of departmental staff; and has daily contact with departmental managers and staff.

This position is eligible for the Recruitment and Retention Pay Differential (Pay Diff # 412), 5% for the 1st year and 10% for the 2nd year ongoing.
