Tyson Foods, Inc. in Alabama seeks a Hatchery Supervisor to oversee day-to-day hatchery operations, monitor incubation and equipment, and ensure on-time chick movement to farms.

You will supervise a team, complete delivery and mortality logs, and work with management to implement improvements. Requires education beyond high school and 2 years of supervision experience; Jamesway hatchery experience and SAP familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Education beyond high school including vocational school and/or college courses.
• 2 years of experience in supervision is required; Jamesway hatchery or live production experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Kronos, UKG, SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operations of a hatchery and monitor day-to-day activities.
• Formulate strategies for future improvement and oversee staffing on a daily basis.
• Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, mortality charts, and logs for trucks and drivers.
• Oversee incubation, hatchery equipment, and environmental control equipment; ensure timely chick movement to farms.
• Grade eggs, prepare vaccines, and perform other duties as assigned by manager.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supervising the operations of a specific hatchery by monitoring the day-to-day activities as well as formulating strategies for future improvement. This includes completing the chick delivery sheets as well as flock pull sheets and mortality charts keeping logs on each truck consisting of miles and hours worked by each driver and ensuring movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedule. Other responsibilities include monitoring the incubation and hatchery equipment as well as the environmental control equipment overseeing chick deliver and pick-up and supervising personnel on a daily basis. Other duties include grading flocks of eggs from hen farms preparing vaccines to be given to the chickens and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. Any other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Requires education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses. Experience: 2 years experience in supervision. Jamesway hatchery experience, hatchery experience, or live production experience preferred. Computer Skills: Basic Computer skills. Microsoft Office, Kronos, UKG, SAP preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
