Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lab Supervisor to lead the Flow Cytometry department. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–8:30pm, with up to 20% travel to other Labcorp sites.

You will supervise, train, and mentor staff, ensure timely test results, and maintain QA records. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology and at least 5 years of lab experience, including 2 years in flow cytometry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 5 years of laboratory experience at the technologist level, including 2 years in flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Flow Cytometry department.
• Travel up to 20% to assigned Labcorp sites.
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department.
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage.
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary.
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations.
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 8:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Flow Cytometry department
• Travel up to 20% to assigned Labcorp sites

• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 5 years of laboratory experience at the technologist level, including 2 years of laboratory experience at the technologist level in flow cytometry

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of previous supervisor/leadership experience
• ASCP or AMT certification (or equivalent)

Additional Job Standards

• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
