Job summary

Energy Transfer seeks an experienced accounting/finance professional to lead the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements for the parent company. You will manage monthly closes, SEC filings, and GAAP compliance in a fast‑paced energy company environment.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, CPA, and supervisory abilities. Travel and collaboration across finance teams are expected, with strong focus on accuracy and controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required or equivalent experience.
  • CPA designation required; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years in accounting/finance with supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly parent company consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings.
  • Identify and implement GAAP/SEC reporting best practices.
  • Manage monthly close process and lower-level reporting consolidations.
  • Perform GAAP/SEC research to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with annual audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare and review joint venture quarterly/annual reports.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and review of monthly parent company consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings.
  • Identify and implement best practices for GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Manage the monthly close process and review of lower-level reporting consolidations.
  • Perform research to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Assist with annual audit and quarterly reviews
  • Manage the preparation and review of joint venture quarterly and annual reports.
  • Manage and perform special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
Required Education / Minimum Level
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • CPA designation required and MBA preferred
Experience
  • 8 years of relevant industry or public accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the energy industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly.Personable, positive and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people. Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization skills and work habits.
  • Sense of initiative with desire to become truly involved in the business.
  • Flexibility with ability to work in a team setting supporting several people.
Software Knowledge
  • Microsoft office applications.
  • SAP and BPC knowledge preferred
  • Wdesk knowledge preferred
Working Conditions
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
