Rural Metro Fire Department in Santa Clarita, CA, is seeking an Operations Supervisor on a full-time basis. The role oversees day-to-day field operations, staffing, equipment maintenance, and community relations, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years EMS field experience, EMT or Paramedic certification, a valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS).

  • Supervise and develop field staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain operational quality through daily oversight and communication.

  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, and support team development.
  • Collaborate with management to address staffing and service improvement.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage staffing levels, shift calendars, and fill open shifts as needed.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of medical equipment.

Operations Supervisor FULL-TIME Opportunity

Job Title: Field Supervisor

Department: Operations

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Operations Manager

Schedule:

The applicant must be able to work a variety of scheduled hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Supervisor Operations is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations which may include staffing, scheduling, ensuring maintenance of equipment and supplies, internal communications, budgetary considerations, outside agency interface, and community relations.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and develop field staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain operational quality through daily oversight and communication.
  • Act as a liaison among the company, patients, and public safety agencies.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, and support team development.
  • Collaborate with management to address staffing and service improvement.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage staffing levels, shift calendars, and fill open shifts as needed.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of medical equipment.
MinimumRequired Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of EMS field experience.
  • Prior FTO or other leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
  • State EMT or Paramedic Certification.
  • State Driver's License with driving record in compliance with GMR's Safety & Driving policy (proof required if conditional employment is made).
  • As required for EMT or Paramedic: BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS Certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some advanced education is preferred.
