Job summary

Medxcel in Fishers, IN, is seeking a Dayshift, full-time Facilities Operations role at St. Vincent Fishers to maintain building systems, grounds, energy use and equipment inventories, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

You’ll supervise staffing, coordinate vendors, ensure regulatory and safety standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA), assist with budget and purchasing, and drive process improvements while delivering strong customer service to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years in maintenance/operation of a physical plant for a large facility.
  • Preferred: 3 years in a large, multi-campus healthcare system.
  • 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supports facilities operations by managing building systems, maintenance, grounds, energy use, and equipment inventories to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training, and daily work assignments to maintain appropriate coverage and team performance.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC), including conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting inspections.
  • Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.
  • Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests, coordinating with vendors and Purchasing, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
  • Drives process improvement and operational efficiency while maintaining strong communication and customer service with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

  • Requirement of High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Five years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility

Preferred Experience:

  • Three years’ experience in a large, multi-campus healthcare system
  • Three years’ supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities
