Katy ISD Maintenance and Operations seeks a Supervisor - Environmental to lead environmental projects and oversee IAQ, HazCom and asbestos programs. Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
Mold technician license or equivalent (preferred)
Integral knowledge in safety and compliance issues with a concentration in IAQ, HAZCOM and Asbestos; two years’ experience (preferred)
Three years of supervisory experience
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations
Strong organizational and project management skills
Knowledge of building structure, materials and ability to read plans & specifications
Ability to interpret environmental regulations and technical reports
Good conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
Proficient in English (verbal and written)
Texas Operator’s License
Primary Purpose: Provide comprehensive support for all matters related to Maintenance and Operations involving building envelope systems, indoor air quality (IAQ), Hazard Communication (HazCom)_and the district’s Asbestos Management Program to ensure facilities are safe, functional, compliant and maintained to the highest standards of excellence. Additionally, this position must ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and district policies while providing technical expertise and support to district departments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Used: Personal computer, IAQ equipment, moisture meter, district vehicle, particulate counter, Q-Trak, copier, ladders, lifts
Working Conditions: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain control under stress. Repetitive hand motions, bending, reaching, standing, sitting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Conditions normal to remediation projects. Physical ability to climb buildings and crawl under buildings. Frequent district wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours, work indoors and outdoors to conduct onsite inspections.
