Katy ISD is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain district grounds and athletic fields. The role reports to the Grounds Crew Chief, is non-exempt and spans 260 duty days per year. A Texas Operator’s License, ability to read/write/speak English, and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required.
The position involves operating equipment, carrying gear for extended periods, and addressing hazards on campus grounds under supervision. Starting date is immediate.

Qualifications:
Possess a valid Texas Operator’s License
Ability to read, write, and speak English (Preferred)
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Primary Purpose:
Provide all district grounds and athletic fields with quality grounds care. Provide expertise and guidance regarding upkeep of district grounds and athletic fields as required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Equipment Used:
Tractor, mower-riding and power, gas-powered weed trimmer, blower, edger, sprayer, striping machine, garden and hand tools, posthole auger, and aerator. Light truck or van.
Working Conditions:
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (herbicides and fertilizer), and loud noises. Frequent district wide travel.
