Job summary

Eversource Energy seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead residential energy efficiency programs for Connecticut customers. Based in Berlin, CT, you will oversee Energy Efficiency Administrators, manage the Wise Use and rebate programs, and coordinate with Avangrid across New England to drive participation and cost-effective delivery.

You will provide strategy, mentor staff, and ensure performance against budgets and metrics in a hybrid environment.

In this role within the energy efficiency department, you will supervise a team who is implementing Energy Efficiency programs for Eversource’s residential customers in Connecticut. The team includes Energy Efficiency Administrators who are responsible for the Wise Use customer call group, customer application processing, lead processing, and customer emails. This job will also include management of the rebates program offered through Home Energy Solutions and Multifamily Initiative. Your successful residential program delivery involves coordinating with Avangrid staff through a statewide approach.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the electric and natural gas programs for this segment of customers are deployed in a customer-centric and cost-efficient manner that drives high levels of customer participation and ensures that internal and external service metrics are met to deliver high customer satisfaction. As a supervisor, you will provide the strategy and vision to inspire and drive creative and effective solutions.

The role is based in Berlin, CT

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, problem solve and provide professional development to a team of Administrators to create and deliver effective energy efficiency programsthat benefit residential customers
• Handle customer escalations from initial customer contact through execution of resolution including thorough project review with adherence to building science principles and the program implementation manuals.
• Collaborate with the other residential supervisors to ensure consistency and partnership on program execution
• Oversee the execution of the rebate program offered through Home Energy Solutions for 1-4 family homes and the Multifamily Initiative. Tasks include creation of applications, new energy efficient measure opportunities, reporting, and overseeing the rebate processing vendor
• Oversee the overall implementation of projects for residential customers to ensure achievement of energy efficiency savings and program budget goals & metrics
• Contribute to strategic roadmaps that advance sustainable energy efficiency practices amongst residential customers
• Approach opportunities, problems, and process improvement initiatives creatively
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders. This includes marketing, internal management team, and Eversource MA and NH Residential program leadership
• Select and manage qualified contracted services for program implementation and lead EECs to ensure high-quality vendor performance
• Work with stakeholders to identify, promote and administer new and innovative approaches to blend energy efficiency with other initiatives and opportunities, including state and federally funded programs
• Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with Avangrid program administrators including United Illuminating, Connecticut Natural Gas, and Southern Connecticut Gas
• Manage program budgets, develop forecasts and track key performance metrics/indicators

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills

• Strong knowledge of building science in homes and Home Energy Solutions & Home Energy Solutions- Income Eligible
• Strong business and operations management skills, and analytical skills
• Strong team and thought leadership skills
• Proven success in developing staff through mentoring, education, and challenging assignments
• Requires ability to interpret energy efficiency technologies and understand their application
• Experience and ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written correspondence and public speaking
• Solid project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities
• Goal and objective-driven, including adeptness with removing obstacles and barriers while remaining collaborative with many internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to approach opportunities for improvement creatively, and act on new ideas with the objective of providing more value added to the customer
• Plan and allocate resources effectively to support business priorities, seasonal fluctuations in volume, and operational needs
• Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing priorities and evolving demands

Education

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience
• An advanced degree is desirable

Licenses & Certifications

• Relevant energy efficiency certifications desired (BPI, CEM etc.,)

Experience

• Eight (8) plus years of experience, with knowledge of residential building systems
• Previous management experience preferred
• Experience in presentations and public speaking preferred
• Experience in energy efficiency program implementation

Working Conditions:

• Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
• Work is primarily performed in an office environment which requires a combination of personal computer and telephone work as well as field visits to customer sites.
• HYBRID SCHEDULE; Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
