Job summary

Mountain Cement Company is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to lead the electrical shop at our next-generation cement plant, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency across all electrical systems.

You will direct a team of qualified electricians, manage maintenance activities, and drive environmental and safety compliance while collaborating with maintenance leadership. This is a growth-focused, on-site leadership role at MCC's facility.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Theory preferred.
  • 5 years of experience as an electrical supervisor in an industrial environment required.
  • Experience with troubleshooting PLCS's, VFD's, Instrumentation required.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with MSHA, Federal, State, and local safety rules/regulations and MCC policies at all times.
  • Completion of accurate, timely troubleshooting/repairs/maintenance of all electrical systems, switchgear, and devices.
  • Providing leadership with clear, measurable goals and accountability for performance.
  • Problem-solving includes identifying problems, developing cost-effective actions, delegating tasks, and holding subordinates accountable.
  • Clear communication of priorities/goals/objectives to all electrical department staff.

The MCC Electrical Supervisor reports to the MCC Maintenance Manager. This supervisor must be a leader capable of directing others to meet/exceed defined goals. The Electrical Supervisor must be knowledgeable of all aspects of cement manufacturing, repair/maintenance of electrical systems (low, medium, and high voltage), and have a clear understanding of the rules and regulations affecting/governing employee safety/management. This individual must always promote environmental/safety compliance.

OVERVIEW

The MCC Electrical Supervisor is responsible for prioritizing, planning, and directing all electrical repair/maintenance activities throughout MCC operations while always complying with applicable safety and environmental regulations and/or MCC policies.

  • Proficient in the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all electrical systems throughout MCC.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of cement manufacturing.
  • Excellent organizational skills to facilitate completion of maintenance/repair/replacement activities on time and within budget constraints.
  • Leadership; must lead by example, be a good negotiator, and team builder.
  • Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach.
  • Must possess good communication skills; writing, speaking, listening, etc.
  • Proficiency in establishing goals that are clear, well‑defined, and measurable. Must be able to communicate these objectives clearly to others and provide feedback/appraisals to ascertain if the objectives are being met.
  • Must possess good decision‑making skills based upon the ability to accurately identify problems, collect relevant information/data, and generate cost‑effective solutions.
  • Must be capable of handling stress associated with job duties, deadlines, and all personnel interactions.
  • Capable of maintaining appropriate and constructive responses under all circumstances.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical Supervisor is a front‑line supervisor accountable for directing the electrical shop and all of the personnel assigned to the electrical department. This individual’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Compliance with all MSHA, Federal, State, and local safety rules/regulations and or observance of MCC company policies at all times. Procedures and performance of activities may vary as conditions change (i.e. changing weather conditions, operational status of mechanical equipment changes, etc.).
  • Compliance with all Federal, State, and local environmental rules and regulations at all times.
  • Completion of accurate, timely, troubleshooting/repairs/maintenance of all electrical systems, switchgear, and all other electrical devices throughout all MCC operations.
  • Providing leadership that establishes clear goals that are measurable and well‑defined. This individual should lead by example and hold himself and his subordinates accountable for job performance.
  • Problem‑solving includes the ability to accurately identify problems, development of cost‑effective actions, delegate responsibility for the performance of actions to subordinates, and hold subordinates accountable for job/task performance.
  • Clear communication of priorities/goals/objectives to all electrical department employees to provide definitive direction.
Education & Experience
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Theory preferred
  • 5 years of experience as an electrical supervisor in an industrial environment required
  • Experience with troubleshooting PLCS's, VFD's, Instrumentation required
