Job summary

Mountain Cement Company, a subsidiary of Eagle Materials, seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to help bring a state-of-the-art cement plant to life. The role leads a crew of mechanics/welders, ensuring safe, reliable operation and regulatory compliance across MCC operations.

You will drive maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and cost-effective repairs while fostering teamwork and leadership in a high‑stakes industrial environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of field experience in heavy or mining industries required.
  • Technical schooling in equipment repair/maintenance required.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with MSHA, Federal, State, and local rules/regulations and MCC policies at all times.
  • Compliance with all Federal, State, and local environmental rules and regulations at all times.
  • Completion of accurate, timely troubleshooting/repairs/maintenance of all mechanical equipment throughout MCC operations.
  • Providing leadership that establishes clear goals that are measurable and well defined.
  • Problem solving including the ability to accurately identify problems and develop cost‑effective actions.
  • Clear communication of priorities/goals/objectives to all maintenance department employees.

OVERVIEW

The MCC Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for organizing and delegating repair/maintenance activities to a crew of mechanic/welders that report to this individual. Job activities must be performed while complying with applicable safety and environmental regulations and/or MCC policies at all times. Basic qualifications and/or traits that the MCC Maintenance Supervisor must possess include:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of cement manufacturing.
  • Proficient in the tasks of troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical equipment throughout all MCC operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to facilitate completion of repair/replacement activities on time and within budget constraints.
  • Leadership; must lead by example and be capable of focusing personnel from various departments to meet one common goal.
  • Integrity and ethical behavior beyond reproach.
  • Must possess good communication skills; writing, speaking, listening effectively.
  • Proficiency in establishing goals that are clear, well defined, and measurable. Must be able to communicate these objectives clearly to others, and provide feedback/appraisals to ascertain if the objectives are being met.
  • Must possess good decision making skills based upon the ability to accurately identify problems, collect relevant information/data, and generate cost‑effective solutions.
  • Must be capable of handling stress associated with maintenance activities, deadlines, and personnel interactions.
  • Capable of maintaining appropriate and constructive responses under all circumstances.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Supervisor is a front‑line supervisor accountable for the performance of repair and maintenance activities throughout MCC. This individual’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Compliance with all MSHA, Federal, State, and local rules/regulations and/or observance of MCC company policies at all times. Procedures and performance of activities may vary as conditions change (e.g., changing weather conditions, operational status of mechanical equipment changes, etc.).
  • Compliance with all Federal, State, and local environmental rules and regulations at all times.
  • Completion of accurate, timely troubleshooting/repairs/maintenance of all mechanical equipment throughout all MCC operations.
  • Providing leadership that establishes clear goals that are measurable and well defined. This individual should lead by example holding himself and his subordinates accountable for their job performance.
  • Problem solving including the ability to accurately identify problems, development of cost‑effective actions, delegating responsibility of performance of actions to subordinates, and holding subordinates accountable for job/task performance.
  • Clear communication of priorities/goals/objectives to all maintenance department employees to provide definitive direction.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The Maintenance Supervisor will have formal and/or technical education along with supervisory training.

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of field experience in heavy or mining industries required.
  • Technical schooling in areas of equipment repair and/or maintenance required.
